Staff Portal Terms

Who may use the Portal

The Portal is not open to the public. You may use it only if Star City Safety has invited you and given you an account. By signing in, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Portal.

License

Star City Safety grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Portal for Star City Safety business while you are authorized to do so. Star City Safety and its licensors keep all rights to the Portal and its software. This license ends automatically when your account is removed or your work with Star City Safety ends.

Your account

• Keep your sign-in details private and do not let anyone else use your account
• Tell the office right away if you think someone else has used your account
• Administrators decide what each account can see and do, and can change or remove access at any time

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Portal for anything other than Star City Safety work
• Enter information you know is false, or records that belong to someone else without permission
• Try to get around sign-in, permissions, or security controls, or access data you were not given
• Copy, resell, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Portal or the services it relies on

QuickBooks Online connection

The Portal can connect to Star City Safety's own QuickBooks Online company so that accepted quotes can be sent to QuickBooks as invoices without retyping them.

• Who connects it. Only a Star City Safety QuickBooks administrator can connect the Portal, by signing in to Intuit and approving access. The Portal never sees or stores the QuickBooks password.
• What it uses. The Portal reads and writes only the accounting records it needs for invoicing: customers, products and services, invoices, and payment status.
• Disconnecting. An administrator can disconnect the Portal at any time from QuickBooks Online (Settings, then Apps) or by contacting us. After disconnecting, the Portal stops sending anything to QuickBooks and deletes its stored access tokens.
• Intuit's terms. Your use of QuickBooks Online itself is governed by Intuit's terms and privacy statement. Star City Safety is not affiliated with Intuit, and QuickBooks is a trademark of Intuit Inc.

Your data

Records entered into the Portal belong to Star City Safety and are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

No warranty

The Portal is provided "as is" and "as available." We work to keep it accurate and running, but we do not promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted. Check invoices and other records before relying on them, and keep QuickBooks as the official record of the company's accounts.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Star City Safety is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the Portal, including lost data or a failed sync with QuickBooks. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as an employee under applicable law.

Ending access

We may suspend or end your access at any time, for example when you leave the company or if you break these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the Portal after a change means you accept the updated terms.
