Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you submit the quote form, we receive the information you enter in it:

• Your name and, if you provide one, your company name
• Your email address and phone number
• The project location, the service you need, and your target start date
• Whatever project details you write in the message field

If you call or email us directly, we receive whatever you choose to share in that conversation. If you apply for a job through one of the hiring links on this site, we receive the contents of the email you send.

Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which can include your IP address, browser type, and the time of your visit. These are generated automatically by the hosting platform and are used for security and reliability, not for marketing.

If you use the color-theme picker, your browser remembers your choice in its local storage (under the name scs-theme). That setting stays on your device and is never sent to us.

What we do not collect

• We set no cookies on this site
• We run no analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking scripts
• Every page, font, photo, and script on this site is served from our own host. Your browser does not contact Google, social networks, or other third parties when you browse it
• We do not build advertising profiles or track you across other websites
• We do not ask for payment card details, Social Security numbers, or government IDs through this site

How we use your information

We use what you send us to:

• Respond to your quote request and answer your questions
• Prepare an estimate and schedule crews and equipment
• Carry out the work and stay in touch about your project
• Meet our legal, insurance, and recordkeeping obligations

We do not add you to a marketing list from a quote request. If we ever want to send you something beyond a reply to your inquiry, we will ask first.

Text messaging (SMS)

Star City Safety Inc operates a text messaging program, Star City Safety Dispatch, to send work-related messages to our employees. These messages include crew assignments, job-site locations and report times, schedule changes, weather and safety delays, emergency call-outs, and shift confirmations. We do not send marketing or promotional texts, and we do not text customers or the public through this program.

How we collect consent. Employees provide their mobile number and agree in writing to receive dispatch texts by signing our SMS consent form, either on paper or electronically on our online text consent form. Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of employment. You can view a copy of our consent form at /sms-consent.

What we collect. Your mobile phone number, your consent record (date and signature), and the content of messages you send to or receive from our dispatch number.

How we use it. Only to send and receive work dispatch and scheduling messages and to keep a record of your consent and opt-out choices.

No sharing. Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent are never shared, sold, rented, or traded with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share this information only with the service providers that deliver the messages and run our dispatch system (our SMS provider, and our hosting and cloud storage providers), or when required by law.

Message frequency and cost. Message frequency varies based on your work schedule. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts unless you opt back in by replying START or contacting the office. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at (540) 607-0093 or darell@starcitysafety.com.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we do not rent or trade it. We share it only in these situations:

• Our hosting and form provider. This site is hosted on Netlify, and quote form submissions are delivered through Netlify Forms. Netlify processes and stores those submissions on our behalf so we can read them.
• Our email provider. Form notifications and any direct correspondence pass through our email service.
• Partners on your project. If your job requires it, we may share relevant details with subcontractors, or with the permitting agency or client responsible for the work zone.
• When the law requires it. We may disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

Text messaging exception. None of the above applies to mobile phone numbers or text messaging consent collected for our employee dispatch text program. That information is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, or for any other purpose except as needed to deliver the messages and run our dispatch system (our SMS, hosting, and cloud storage providers) or when required by law.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because we do not track visitors across websites or use analytics, this site works the same way whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. There is nothing for those signals to switch off.

Spam protection

The quote form includes a hidden field that people never see and never fill in. Automated submissions that fill it get discarded. This checks the submission itself and does not profile you or track your behavior.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests and project correspondence for as long as we need them to run the business and to satisfy our legal, tax, and insurance recordkeeping requirements. When we no longer need a record, we dispose of it. If you want your inquiry deleted sooner, contact us and we will take care of it unless we are required to retain it.

Security

This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and we limit access to submissions to the people who need it to do their jobs. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. Please do not send sensitive personal information such as payment card numbers or Social Security numbers through the quote form.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and tell us what you need. We may need to verify who you are before we act, and we may keep records we are legally required to keep. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local privacy laws, and we will honor those rights where they apply.

Children

This site is meant for business inquiries and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Our site may link to pages we do not operate, such as an agency or standards organization. We are not responsible for the privacy practices on those sites, so review their policies before sharing anything with them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here, so check back if it matters to you.
